 Prologue

2^nd Korean War

In an early of 2023, Democratic People’s Republic of Korea invaded through 38th parallel with 10 brigades to the east and 15 brigades to the west. The Blitzkrieg began in February, 3. Infantrymen flew into cities in north part very fast without any resistance. By the time the Republic of Korea Army was ready to resist, it was too late. Incheon and many important cities were already occupied. 275,000 civilian dead and 365,000 wounded were reported in Valentine’s Day. United Nation and Allied countries declared the war with Democratic People’s Republic of Korea. In late 2024, the situation was extremely risk to become a nuclear war after Kim Jong-il ordered to use biochemical weapon in main cities like Incheon and Seoul. 10,000,000 civilians were infected and died. 2 months later, he threatened to attack Alaska with ICBM. Heavy fighting between troops from both sides occurred in many cities in the north part of Republic of Korea and resulted in 6,000,000 casualties in October 2025. Finally, U.S. ground forces were withdrawal to avoid the nuclear war. U.S. military involvement ended on 17 June 2027 as a result of the Newcastle Amendment passed by the U.S. Congress. Capture of Seoul by Korean People’s Army in September 2027 marked the end of 2^nd Korean War. All Allied countries withdrew from Republic of Korea in January 2028. The war took 4 years and 11 months long. Allied lost more than 5,000,000 men, 60,000 aircrafts and 500,000 ground vehicles. Democratic People’s Republic of Korea finally unified Republic of Korea in April 2028.

New Home for immigrants

Republic of Korea population was decreased by 60 percent during the war. The cause of the death was biological infection. 12,000,000 civilians didn’t want to abandon their home. They could stand being slaves for the Communists. Another 7,000,000 people immigrated to Japan and they caused a lot of problems because Japan wasn’t ready of taking care a lot of immigrants like this. They consulted with Human Rights USA about what to do with 7,000,000 Korea immigrants in Japan. They finally bestowed Japan’s desolate archipelago in the northwest to Republic of Korea immigrants as U.S. Territory. The archipelago had 5 islands, the largest island called “Main island” was in the middle surrounded by 4 small islands; United States President Eugene Smith went to the island for establishment and named this archipelago as “California Island” with Frank Poulsen as a governor. People around the world especially Americans donated for this island. Only a month after President Smith declared about the donation, the balance could easily establish another 10 Faroe Islands. But this island wasn’t for just immigrants, but it was also available for 10,000 families from United States and Japan that donated most. It became the business finally. It wasn’t strange because the island was surrounded by the silent sea, plentiful nature and lofty mountains in the middle of the non-polluted environment. There was nowhere to be as good as this island to invest. They moved into the island in late 2028 and began investment immediately. Business competitions also began at this point. Hotels, apartments and resorts rose like mushrooms. FTA caused the downtown which became the business center in the island located on Winters Avenue in the main island before people that United Nations and Japan bestowed this archipelago for even stepped on it.

In late 2029, Korea immigrants started to move from the immigration camps that scattered around Japan to California Islands. Most of them expected to get home, but when they just first stepped on the island, they immediately changed their minds because their new home was a heaven on the sea.
Everything was ready, shopping malls, jobs, businesses and facilities. Most of the immigrants moved into immigration apartments. Actually, these apartments should be called “Immigration Apartments” but “Luxury Apartments” because they were high class ones. Every room was duplex, fully furnished and ready to live. These were homes for immigrants, homes for American and Japan families that came to invest in California Islands were supreme ones, lofty on the hills, beaches or in the business center. Moreover, the immigrants didn’t need to worry about the jobs because the governor had already found for them and every company was ready to hire them.

Masaru Family

Saito Masaru was one of successful Japanese businessman. He was a man with a big round glasses, black hair and got a nerd characteristic. His family used to be poor. He graduated from an ordinary high school in Tokyo before he was accepted with scholarship at Harvard University in Financial department. This was where he met Minako Kawashima, the girl he fell in love. She was a very pretty girl with a black long hair, good shape and looked educative. After he graduated with honor. He worked as an accountant at Wall Street before he bought a small house in Philadelphia and started automobile parts business. His business went very well till he could buy a large house on the hill in Philadelphia, bought a car and rented a small office for his business. In 2012, he married Minako. She came to live with him after wedding. Saito seemed to be a lucky man because Minako was very good at accounting; she responded everything about accounting for the business. This made Saito had more time to find new customers. On 4 August 2014, the only daughter of Saito and Minako was born. Saito named her as “Emi”. She was extremely cute. Saito took care of her every step she walked. Emi became lovelier as she grew up. When she attended the elementary school, she was only 7 years old and she seemed to be the loveliest girl, there was the boy kissed her cheek. After Saito knew about this, he came to the school in the next day and slapped the boy’s face. He was just an innocent boy, didn’t know what was wrong or right. The boy’s parent sued Saito. He was fined for 10,000 dollars.

6 years later, Emi was 13 years old. She was a mature teenager and she was very attractive. Long Black hair, big doe-eyed and good shape like what her mom used to be like when she was at the same age with her, her cuteness attracted everyone who saw her. It was sure! There were boys flirted her every day, asked for her phone number and asked her for date. Saito was always moody to hear Emi talked on the phone. He became a suspicious man, checked every number that Emi called till Emi started to feel cramped. Once her friends persuaded her to go out, Saito kept an eye on her all the time. Emi never went out with her friends and this made her feel that she was staying in the prison called home. After that, Emi quarreled with her dad very often.

Saito invested in oil business in 2021, this made him became a rich man with more than 20 million dollars income per year. Masaru family became a high class family in society. Saito bought luxury bags, jewelry and many premium accessories for Minako so often. She had more than 20 Hermes bags, 30 luxury wristwatches and many premium earrings from every corner of the world. Minako knew many celebrities from many events that she went. She seemed to indulge in her husband’s wealth. She asked Saito to buy her the newest model of Lamborghini and he bought it for her easily after she asked for only 2 days. Saito didn’t care anything but working and his daughter, never joined any celebrity events and never cared anyone’s word. He was still driving his first old Chevy to work while his employers were driving BMWs.

The evil’s day for Masaru family was on January 20, 2028. On a particular day, while Saito was extremely busy discussing with his co-workers in the conference room at his office about a financial plan and a new project. His secretary came in the room with the phone; she gave it to him and told that an emergency medical officer was on the phone. He was shocked right away and the phone fell down from his hand. His knees were wobbly. The officer told him that Emi was crush by a car on N Broad Street. He left everything and got there right away. On 4:40 pm, he was at N Broad Street, he got shocked again, this time he fell down on the street and got cockeye after seeing the blood was spread around the street and Emi was lying down unconscious on the street, her body was full of blood. She was surrounded by more than 10 emergency medical officers. Saito stood up and tried rushing to Emi but one of the officers blocked him. He explained Saito about the accident, Emi’s head hit the floor severely, and the blood may clot in her brain. The driver had escaped from the site since he crashed Emi and would be arrested in one or two days after because the police already had information about the driver. Saito told the officer to send his daughter to the best hospital in Pennsylvania immediately. The officer knew where was the best hospital to get the brain surgery. He hastened his co-workers and took Emi to Frankford Hospital and Research Center. Many of doctors here were brain experts. “It’s Hopeless” the doctor said after checking Emi’s condition, her brain stem was very weak and her heart had stopped beating. Minako just arrived, after she heard that her daughter wouldn’t survive, she fainted. The nurse took her to an emergency room. Saito was extremely serious about with this dead end. He was trying to ask for the best doctor in the hospital who could help her daughter from the death all night. Finally, the nurse told him that the best doctor was ready to operate his daughter. Saito fell asleep because he had been tired all day while the operation was proceeding. On the next day, he woke up by the sound of the surgery room opening, the doctor and his assistant came out. He immediately asked the doctor about his daughter. The doctor didn’t say anything but showed a OK hand sign. He was completely relieved after hearing that. Minako woke up in the same time Saito came in the emergency room. She was also relieved to hear that Emi was safe.

2 months after, Emi was conscious; she woke up and saw her parents were sleeping beside her bed. She poked her father. Saito woke up and saw his daughter clear eyes. He stood up and woke Minako. They danced and jumped with joy. Emi could recognize everyone; her brain didn’t show any unusual symptom. Her memory was not defective. She got home after staying in the hospital for 3 months and kept going as before.

“Doc, I need your help here.”
“What’s wrong with him.”
“He’s critically injured by the artillery.”
“Can’t help, he won’t survive”
“Please doc, there must be some other ways. He is still breathing.”
“I have a lot of wounded men to take care, I can’t help!”
“What the fuck! If your best friend was going to die, what would you do?”
“Hmm… We need to take him back to the United States as soon as possible. And ask god that the doctor will save him from the death.”
“How?”
“There will be an air transport back to United States in 15 minutes, try asking them to take your friend back. They are arriving now.”
“Thanks doc.”
“Never mind.”
“You are going to survive, be strong”

January 20, 2028   3:30 PM

“You know? The best of humanity is the brain.”
“I do know it sir.”
“We can protect everything in our brains right?”
“Yes sir.”
“No one can take our knowledge out of our brains because it is not a USB Flash Drive. Others know what is in our minds, our memories when we tell them, right?”
“Yes sir.”
“But you know? It is not anymore. Today, I am going to show you my newest technology called “Tissue Data Transfer.”
“What is it sir?”
“I found that in Frontal lobe in Cerebrum has a transferring process occurs all the time, but this process occurs only in Frontal Lobe. This is the weakness. As we know that Frontal Lobe is the part that the memory of all one’s life is stored securely and we have thought that this part is the only part that the memory can be stored, we have misunderstood since the predynastic period. Today, I have found that each parts of our brain are separated by the electromagnetic walls. So the data can’t be transferred to other parts. Last month, I found that the best part to secure the data is not Frontal Lobe but Hindbrain because the data stored in this part cannot be recalled. So people can remember only things in Frontal Lobe, but if they have some memory stored in Hindbrain, they can’t remember. Moreover, they don’t even feel of this memory.”
“And how is this technology important sir?”
“Don’t be stupid. I think you have understood all I described”
“I have sir, but I didn’t get it all”
“Never mind, but I want to tell you that I have found the way to make the electromagnetic walls in the brain weak till we can try transferring the data from Frontal Lobe to Hindbrain.”
“It’s extremely risk!”
“I know, but don’t you think it’s worth trying”
“A little bit sir.”
“Moreover, we can even take the data out in Electron charges and store it to others.”
“The USB Flash Drives store data in electron charge.”
“We can also do it”
“Wow! It’s cool”

“BANG” The nurse opened the door like she tried to break it.

“Doctor, we have an emergency patient. Need the brain-surgery now”
“Where is the patient?”
“In the surgery room 9”
“Okay, I am going there now. Wait for me in the room, prepare everything. Jamie, put on your surgery uniform and follow me.”
“Yes sir!”
