My Future Career: Teacher
Education is one of the most important things for everyone. It changes our society and develops our nation. Speaking of education, teachers are the main factor that initiates the way of children’s thoughts, knowledge and morality. All my life, I have experienced many teachers. Every teacher tries hard to make his students good and clever, but unfortunately some teachers cannot succeed in the conveyance. They are not able to make the students understand exactly what they are trying to communicate. Perhaps this problem is caused by the huge age gap, and the distant relationship between them.
According to the problem, teachers are required not just to be intelligent, but also helpful and patient, because they have to use different teaching methods to instruct students from different backgrounds. They have severe duties to sacrifice their time to teach and take care of the students. If they are not willing to help, get resentful easily, or often unreasonably scold students, they can neither fulfill their duties, nor be adored.
Teachers are expected to be an idol or model for students, because their words and action can be followed. They have to be diligent and eager to learn new things in order to improve their own knowledge and vision. The world is running so fast that knowledge and technology are always developing, and these two things certainly can be made use of.
Moreover, they have to be careful with people’s feelings and thoughts, since there may be some mistakes, accidents, and lies. Many incidents happen every day, and it is teachers’ duty to judge between right and wrong, with mercy, justice and righteousness.
My hope is to be a good teacher, who can be reliable to the students. I have met so many people who are smart, but never understand the lessons because their bases are bad. Their former teachers did not teach them well, so when they grew up and have to study advanced lessons, it is surely impossible to comprehend despite diligence. I think it is so pitiful; therefore I want to help solve this problem. If I were a teacher, I would not let my students end up like them.
I think I have most of the necessary qualifications of being a teacher. I used to teach Thai Literature to my friends and cousins, and I was happy that they understood my instruction. I never felt tired of explaining over and over changing wordings until they got the concept. I think I have no prejudice on students. I am willing to teach witted or poor, obedient or naughty children, as long as they got an intention to study, since I disagree forcing children to study or be something they do not even like. They should have rights to choose their own careers. I want to take care of my students and urge them to reach their goals.
