"Sure," I answered. It was relieving that he finally decided to eat something. His reply about feeling like eating showed that he stopped being stressed out about the new school.
"Yuka," he called my name cautiously while leading me behind the school. He walked a little ahead of me. And when he called me he didn't turn to look at me, "you are very kind to me."
"Ha, ha, ha,” I smiled back at Shinji. I wanted him to be happy and familiar with the school soon more than anything else.
"Why are you coming behind the school? If we are to go to a restaurant outside, we must go the other way," I asked as he walked me to a secluded garden surrounded by high walls. The sky was getting dark, and ominous clouds rolled in. Importantly, no one was there. Shinji must have lost his way I thought.
“Shinji, let’s…” I began. I was going to guide him in the right direction, but all of a sudden, he stopped walking.
I didn’t know what to do, so I just looked up at him doubtfully.
"You asked me why I don't eat anything," he said.
"Well, yes, I did." I replied.
"I will tell you." he said in a voice deeper than usual.
I waited to see what would happen. Suddenly, Shinji turned around and grabbed my wrists on both sides. I was confused and shocked. “What are you doing?” I said nervously. My body was drawn closer to him by his strong hands. Then, he said something I definitely didn't expect.
“I am a vampire.”
!!!! ????
I saw fangs appearing in his lips as he spoke. His eyes glowed brightly, like the moon...! Above the sky, the light of the day was fading away…!
A vampire!!!????
"No!! Don’t!!” I begged, trying to break away. But his firm grasp ensured that I stayed put. I wanted to close my eyes, but I couldn’t. Shinji bit me. His sharp fangs plunged into my neck.
“Help me! Anybody!” I shouted for help.
"Sh ... Shinji!! No!!!!!” I screamed.
Everything turned pitch black.
A feeling told me that something dark and gloomy was behind me, and I slowly turned my head around.
“Shinji!?” I exclaimed. “Stop it! No!!!” I screamed at the top of my lungs.
The moment his sharp fangs penetrated into my body, I quivered. The pain was spreading over me. The blood in my body ran wildly to the spot that his fangs penetrated my skin. His strong arms locked me in his embrace, so tightly that I couldn't move a muscle. I couldn’t even cry out for help.
"No! Don’t!!!" I shrieked as I woke up. I found myself in my bedroom, sweating and panting. It was already morning. The bedroom window beside me was open, and I took in the warm morning sunlight.
Was that a dream? It must be a dream. I thought as I breathed a sigh of relief.
I got up and walked to the mirror. As I prayed that what happened to me was just a dream, I saw the wounds caused by Shinji’s sharp fangs on my neck on the reflection. I stared at the dried blood in shock. I still felt the pain spreading from the skin around that area as though the pain was dancing in me.
Vampire fangs…! The thought haunted me.
It wasn’t a dream! It felt even more real as I touched my wounds, feeling the blood clots. I was shocked. I stood still.
“I’m a vampire,” Shinji’s deep, cold voice lingered in my head as if I was listening to a horror story.
Vampire!? How could that be!? That new student was a vampire? My heart began beating faster and I trembled in fear.
Shinji was a vampire. He bit me and drank my blood.
I had met a vampire.
What should I do!?
