ลำดับตอนที่ #2 : Chapter II
“What the hell dream’s in my head?”
Rosainta muttered at the morning, after a man who had been in the dreams was the cause of her crying through the last night. An angry Rosainta was unbelievable what she had done, following a stranger in the dreams and also being trusting him to make a promise. Then she had to sleep with the sorrow and a cup of tears, crying as if someone had taken something important away from the real life. Until the sunrise had come and that meant the beginning of new day, she got up with the truth and heartbeat in herself, and she tried to emphasize to herself that it was just the dreams.
Even if she could begin her new day, she tried her best to stride forward. No matter what about the dreams should be, she would to forget it suddenly.
The exhibition began at late in the morning, almost ten, there were many people in the exhibition building, such the painters, artists, students and all the people who were interested in the beautiful of arts.
Jenny and Patty were looking over the painting which named an ideal man.
“Awesome! Rosainta, you did it very well,” Jenny said.
“Actually, it’s not my intention to find anyone anymore, it’s just a painting,” as a whispering. Rosainta lowered her eyes.
“How are you? Your voice means being disappointed,” Patty asked. “Something’s wrong?”
“I’m trying to forget everything in the dreams even him.”
Rosainta did not explain anything furthermore but her friends were truly close-friends, they sensed deeply inside Rosainta’s mind and exactly understood her thoughts. They caressed Rosainta to encourage her.
“It should be out of reach but not out of sight,” Jenny said.
“Yes,” Patty also supported and touched Rosianta’s hands. “We believe that you’re going to see someone as you want.”
Rosainta smiled but looked like very tired nevertheless she meant to say thanks to her friends.
On the closely dusk, the rest of visitors were a little but there was still no Dennis even similar to. Emphasizing Rosianta to accept the dreams were still the dreams, Dennis was still just her imagination.
While a light of hope was nearly going out, Rosainta saw a person who was looking over at her painting.
No Dennis, but a person who was standing in front of Rosainta’s painting was an elderly woman in a grey coat, and was also wearing a black brimmed hat and a couple of black thin gloves. Her costumes were very weird to other people, however, Rosianta decided to walk up to her, and greeting as the painting’s owner.
“Good day ma’am, do you like this painting?”
“Yes,” the elderly answered by hoarse voice, and then she warmly smile back.
“I’m an artistic student and working on this painting, if you have some criticism please.”
“I have no criticism but I would say good job, I think it’s a flawless painting.”
“Thank you of your kind, I’m Rosainta and nice to meet you.”
“I’m Mary.”
The elderly, Mary, was still appreciated for the painting, and sometimes she tried to touch it but she had to come to a sudden halt with a label below the painting noticed that please do not touch.
“I’ve never seen a painting like this because there’s no one could remember anything in the dreams,” as a weird sound and meaning, Mary said something unbelievable.
“Wait, I’m very sure that I’ve never talked to you about the dreams, how did you know?”
“The place in this painting is not in the reality. At least I’ve never known the public park which was decorated by the only pink roses and the white ones.”
“Um--, you said right, no matter how it looks, it’s just an imagination.”
“No, I don’t mean the imagination. Although it’s not in the reality, it may be in somewhere.”
Rosainta heard clearly but she thought that Marry was like a lunatic person. Besides, she sensed something specific in Mary’s eyes.
“A man in this painting, you know him?” as uncertainly, Rosainta forgot herself and asked Mary a great question.
“Why do you think I know him? And what an answer would you like to get from me?”
“I don’t know why but I sense a weird thing in you. Mary, you aren’t like an ordinary elderly woman who was interested in arts, not at all.”
“What you’re talking is about a weird thing too.”
“I’m sorry, Mary, forgetfulness of myself caused me to talk to you like that.”
“No need to apologize, and if you’re anxious, why not you take it easy and then tell me something in your mind slowly.”
“You said right,” Rosainta said and broadly smiled. “I’m looking for him earnestly.”
“Why are you looking for him?”
“I…,” Rosianta thought over the truth and then she said. “I need to prove the reality of him. I’ve seen him in my dreams for a week, everyday, it’s just the dreams but sometimes I think he may not be just my imagination.”
“You’re falling in love?”
“I…I’m not sure,” Rosainta faltered and lowered her eyes.
“The love is a kind of thing that the human try to grab at, and also like the air around us because we cannot live without love.”
“You said it well, I think so.”
“Rosainta, you named this painting as an ideal man?”
“Yes.”
“Once in my past, I found someone looked like you, he had the dreams and he was falling in love with a young woman in his dreams. From then, he tried to look for her in the reality, everywhere and every time.”
“What happened after that?”
“Whether he found or not, it was not more important than a bad reality.”
“A bad reality?”
The word a bad reality made Rosainta’s deep heart beat excitedly like an evil’s drum, it meant to some terrible stories and she also thought to Dennis instantly because some of his conversations in the dreams recently indicated that he was trying to conceal something bad in his reality life.
Moreover, this bad word also caused her to feel hopelessness. Indirectly, it meant Dennis was just her imagination, and there was no way to be the reality. That was all of the meaning of a bad reality in Rosainta’s mind.
She still was waiting for the true answer or explanation about a bad reality but there was no replying except a kind of sight from Mary without words.
“Mary, tell me, what’s a bad reality?” Rosainta iteratively asked.
“Not this time yet, anyway, what if a bad reality was waiting for you? Still look for him even have to face a bad reality?”
“I don’t know, but if he exists, I will look for him even fear are in my mind.”
“Bravery but a poor girl, and being like Dennis”
“Mary! You exactly know him, I’ve never told you about his name yet but you called him a name! You know him, and that mean he is in the reality, right? Well Marry, please tell me about him and where he is now.”
No replying, the elderly Mary went back to glance at the painting again. Calmly, quietly, a long silent moment had passed then she turned to face Rasainta, a couple of sad eyes were shinning but she still kindly smiled.
Anxiously, Rosainta was attempting to calm down, she peeped at Mary’s face and waited for some kind of words from her that were not the silence like this moment.
“It’s your life, your way, and I could do nothing except a caution.” Mary seriously said.
“What’s a caution?”
“Please keep in mind as well, whenever you’re falling in unusual situations or encountering something is just weird around you, I will wait here to help you.”
“Mary…” Rosainta faintly said and groaned. “What does it mean?”
The elderly woman gave Rosainta an answer as a smiling face without words then she walked away and out of the exhibition building.
Rosainta stood still and watched Mary’s strides until she was disappeared.
There were a lot of chaotic current thoughts in Rosainta’s head, inexplicably, who Mary is, how she know Dennis and what the weird things as she said, especially a caution.
The sunset had passed and the cold wind began to blow at night, Rosainta still thought of the weird elderly woman but even some thoughts muddled in her head, this is the bed time and the last night was a sleepless night that caused she was very tired. She sighed and back whole body down on the bed. Then she deeply slept and there was no one could dream in the deep sleep, extraordinary, exception for her.
“What the diffuse mist” Rosainta muttered once she was conscious in the dream, and she saw the mist diffused like the rage smoke.
However, she was glad because of coming back to the sweet dreams as she had been. Certainly, the appearance of Dennis, an ideal guy, was immediately in her mind, and her heart was enlarged with expectance to see him at the green-wooded bench.
Walking through the mist as quickly, Rosainta was very pleased and then smiled broadly, and her heart had been at the bench forward. After she had walked pass the rows of roses, she reached to the center of the park, and looked up at the clock.
It was fifteen minutes to the midnight. Rosainta inhaled and then she turned to keep her eyes on the green-wooded bench but something was wrong. Wondering and walking up to the bench as slowly, why not? She asked herself once there was no one sat on the bench.
For a week ago, every dream in the past, Dennis always sat on this bench to wait for her and he killed the time by his favorite, a drawing. Unbelievably, everything which was in the dream of tonight was still as it was except his being.
The standing bench looked like a lonely bench and it might wait for Dennis as same as Rosainta did, she sat down on the bench, sighed and thought a lot. While she was falling in the confusion, she was scared the negative thoughts of herself and that always caused her to despair and to cry. Just a few second had passed, lastly, the terrible answer came to her heart and whispered in her mind, this one was throughout in her head but she did not want to accept.
