That night I hadn’t dream about anything, probably
because there was no more exposition to be told.
But our sleep was cut short from an ambush.
I woke up suddenly from a sound of an arm crushed
though the door. I turned to the said door, the arm that broke though was
skinny and burnt, and it only had 3 fingers, with a talon-like nail.
The sound also wakes Jordan and dad. I was
waiting for Jordan to say, ‘I told you so!’, but then I remembered he wasn’t that type of person.
Suddenly another arm busted though the
window. It’s identical to the first one, which meant it’s as scary.
Dad was the one who reacted first, he
grabbed all our bags and throwed it to us. He pulled out his staff and swung it
at the window, breaking it and the thing that tried to get in.
“Let’s go out though the window!” He said.
Jordan and I sprung out of the beds and we
all jumped out though the window.
We landed to the ground mostly unhurt. The
monster that tried to get into was lying on the ground, it was a demon with no
legs, with a demon with bat-like wing, lizard-like tail and a sharp claw. Its
entire body was made up of burnt skin and no fur. It’s also had horn. So
basically, it’s look like something that emerge from the deepest depth of hell.
Dad used his staff to stab it, its body
dissolved.
‘That was easy’ I thought to myself.
Suddenly, dad fell to his knee, his face
started to sweat, his face expressing pain.
“Dad! What happen?” Jordan asked.
“My…body” He said. “It’s...fill…with pain.”
Suddenly around us, about 200 more of the
creature’s swoop down from the sky and surrounded us.
“What are you people!?” I asked them, trying
to buy time.
‘We…are Arai.’ They said, the voice
didn’t come from their mouth, but resonating in my head. The same way Edge did.
Which made me imagine these demons teaching
Edge how to say in people head. Come to think about it, that is very possible.
I looked at them, they all looked the same,
like a copy of one demon paste a couple hundred time. That gave me an idea, time to
pull my old trick out of my sleeve. Trash talking and stalling.
“So what are you?” I asked them “Rejected
henchmen from DC studios?”
‘No’ The sound resonated ‘We are
creatures of vengeance.’
‘We delivered the curse of dead men.’
Another resonated, or maybe the same one, it’s impossible to tell.
“Why are all your voice sound the same?” I
asked
‘I don’t know what you talking about.’
“Yeah, you all got the same creepy kinda
voice going on.”
‘Seem like you have a hearing problem.’ One
said.
‘You tell her, Grill.’
‘Nice one.’
‘Nobody talks to Arai that way and survive.’
I was quite confused “Did more than one of
you just talk because I can’t tell.”
‘That was like, 4 different Arai’ One said.
“Well it was very confusing because you
kinda look the same.”
‘We all have distinct personality.’
“Sure, you do.” I said, “You all seem to
have an interesting group dynamic you have.”
‘We…are Arai.’
“Yeah, I got that already.”
‘Enough nonsense!’ They said, ‘We
are here to curse you and stop you in your path!’
One of the demon charged at me, I
raised my staff and hit it, and with just one blow, it dissolved into dust.
Suddenly a sudden pain inflicted though my
body, my body felt like it was burning.
I realized this was the Arai’s power. If we
killed them, they filled their victims with pains.
“Dad” I said, weakly “Are you alright?”
“Bad, but better now.” He answered and used
his staff to help himself stand up.
Another Arai approached us, I about to stab
my staff at it, but remembered its power so I didn’t. Which granted it the
opportunity to used it nail to scratch me, and very hard.
I jumped back 10 feet back, and examine the
wound, it’s went from my shoulder to elbow, dripping blood, the pain was as bad
as the curse.
I lit both my staff’s end with fire, “We
have no choice but to beat them all.”
So we separately charged in different
direction.
I must kill them all in one blow, I
realized. I jumped into the sky and casted a big spell.
“Kasai no ame!” I shouted ‘fire rain’ in
Japanese. The fire in the end of my staff expanded into the size of a
basketball’s ball. And exploded into huge amount of little fire ball and rained
on the Arai, killing about 10 of them.
And another 10 more curses inflicted at me.
I tried to get up and think of another spell
to fight. But I couldn’t, the pain was too great.
‘Wanna tag?’ Amaterasu said.
[To be honest, I actually forgot about her
being inside my head.]
‘No way.’ I told her ‘You will steal my
body.’
That statement means that even though we are
BFF now. I still didn’t trust her.
‘Fine’ She said, ‘But at least use my power
correctly.’
‘What?’
‘Do you even know what I’m a goddess of!?’
‘Well, a sun.’
‘Yeah, and you used fire! Fire is just part
of the sun; the main power of the sun is light.’
‘You should have told me this SOONER!’
‘Here, I just going to tell you this really
cool spell, just resaid it.’
Huge amount of knowledge was literally
download into my head. I could feel like a year worth of study revealed itself
to me. This is one of the good thing in hosting a god, you can know anything in
the world.
I muttered spell in Japanese. My feet
started to lift from the ground and my body started to glow.
“Ah, Ava” Jordan said, “What is happening?”
‘She is using the ultimate light magic!’ The Arai
shouted, ‘Run for your life!’
When I was 30 feet up in the sky, I opened
my eyes, they were gleamed with bright light.
“Chūmon no hikari!”
I shouted.
‘Light of order!’ Amaterasu also shouted.
My
body turned to supernova, an explosion of light burst out in…well, light speed.
When the light reached the Arai, they dissolved into a puffed of smoke. The
light reached out for 300 meters, killing all the Arai.
I fell to the ground, that when dad and
Jordan rushed to me. I gave them a thumb up.
And then I collapsed to the floor, as 200
curses were inflicted at me all at once.
