Okay, I got to admit, what Ava just did is really cool.

But the consequence? It’s less cool.

I run up to her, her body was throbbing with pain.

“Are you alright?” I asked her, worryingly.

       She didn’t answer.

Dad followed up, he touched her forehead and turned to me, “She took too much curse at once, it might take day to recovered.”

He sat down and brought out a healing potion, and poured it into Ava’s mouth, she couched it out a little bit but managed to swallow it.

“We have no choice but to wait for her to recover.” I said.

       “It seems so.”

So that what we did, we waited, as Dad was watching Ava, I explored the place we sleep in, I casted a revelation spell, revealing it to be just a ruin.

I looked around at the ruin, and found a half-dissolved Arai buried under a cement block,

“Why aren’t you destroy yet?” I asked it.

‘Even if us Arai all lose’ It said in my mind, ‘You will never stop our Lord Ludwik, his ritual will be completed at mid-night! And our dream will become tru..’

I stabbed the Arai, the rest of its body dissolved, and a curse inflicted at me. I bit my tongue to stand the pain.

I walked back to my dad and told him the convenient exposition I just gained.

“I see.” Dad said after I told him, “As soon as Ava wake up, we will enter the castle immediately. “

So, we waited, and waited, and waited. When the sun set for about 2 hours, Ava gained consciousness. Which is long enough for me to finish the novel I brought with me.

We filled Ava with some data and jumped in the jeep and drove to the castle.

Ludwik’s castle was even scarier up close, the front gate made from black wood and lion statues guarding the front door, its eyes seem to be following us as we walked.

When we were in front of the gate, it swung open, revealing, the courtyard.

       “This is unexpected.” Ava said.

At both sides of the walkway, several types of flowers were planted. Coloring the dark castle with yellow, red, purple, orange and blue.

We walked passed the flower path, and to the main castle itself, which the door automatically opened again.

Inside, I expected a big main hall, maybe filled with load of enemies, but in actuality it’s not like that. Inside was a tall black wall leading straight and split into many ways.

       “It’s a maze.” I said.

“Geez thank for stating the obvious Jordan.” Ava said.

We formed a line, with dad in front, Ava in the middle to provided light from her staff, and me at the back.

We had to dodged a few traps, like a trapdoor to a metal spike, an invisible pit with a metal spike, and a shooting fireball machine, with pushed you into a hole with metal spike.

[Did you notice a pattern here? I feel like I notice a pattern here.]

We advanced though the maze more and more, but it seems like we haven’t go anywhere.

Maybe about 30 minutes passed, Ava fell to the ground.

“My child, what’s wrong?” Dad asked.

“Do you think…” She said, “…that Ludwik made a maze with no exit so that we will stuck here forever?”

“That is a possibility.” Dad admit, “But Ludwik was still probably testing us right now, so it shouldn’t be. But our priority is to search for exit and always stick toge…”

Suddenly, the maze started to shift, several walls lower down to the ground as several more raised. One cut Ava and I from dad.

“What do we do now!?” Ava asked me, clearly in panic mode.

I was about to told her to stay calm when another wall burst from the ground, separating me from her.

       I smashed the wall.

“Ava!” I shouted, but she didn’t reply, which could mean 2 things.

    1.She’s already dead or

2.The wall is too thick that a sound can’t go through it.

It’s probably the second one, or at least it’s must be. Which leave me with 2 options.

1.Wait here for the maze to change shape again [Highly unlikely] to meet up with dad and Ava, assuming they would do the same.

2.Advancing through it alone, meeting up with dad and Ava at the exit.

I decided to go with the second option.

So, I raised up from the ground [Yeah, I was deciding while sitting on the floor.] and splinted through the maze.

With me alone, I could do thing quicker and easier. I dodged every metal spikes-related trap and made marks on the maze’s wall with my sword, to make me know where I already had go.

But the weird thing was, the maze seemed to be less complicated. The splitting wasn’t that much and there were barely any dead ends.

‘It tried to make me go somewhere.’ I realized, but still going through it anyway.

‘Let it lead me to where it wants.’ I thought ‘I will face anything it throw at me.’ My eyes gleamed with confident.

Maybe a minute has pass, or maybe a hour, when the path leaded into a big room, I speeded up my splint and run into it.

The room was only 20 by 20 meters sizes, with absolutely nothing but the way I came in, and the way opposite of me. Except, there was someone there.

She was a red-hair girl, with a pair of ember eyes. She wore a gold breast armor, with golden bracelet on each of her arm, a dagger at her belt, a long white skirt and a pair of sandals. In her hand she holded a wooden wand.

       And she’s Kate.
