Narwhal

            Last week I have received a lovely pet from my teacher. It is a narwhal from Antarctica. Narwhales are similar to general whales, but they have a very long tooth projecting from their heads which looks like the horn of the unicorns, the graceful horses in fairy tales. Since my narwhal’s tooth is so beautiful and sparkling, I named her Mayarassamee, which means “brightness” or “shining light”.

            In order to keep Mayarassamee safe and comfortable, I had to change my house into a huge cozy aquarium. I brought the giant ice cube and salt-water for her, because she cannot live in warm fresh water, so now my house is a little bit cold. Mayarassamee loves eating seafood just like me, so we can go along with each other very well. After dinner it is time for my girl to pretty up. I brush and floss her strong tooth every day to make it always perfectly clean and pure white. I bet there is no narwhal that has a more charming tooth than hers. I taught her how to dance and she quickly enjoyed it. For some reasons I saw her try to dance with a ball like the seals or dolphins in the circus. Maybe I let her watch animal programmes on TV too much. I hope she will not cry in a high-pitched voice like a dolphin someday. Still, I am pleased that Mayarassamee usually knows whenever I have something in my mind. She will swim near me listening to my problems and then try to make me laugh.

            In my free time I play sword fighting with her. It is her favourite game, but it makes me exhausted because, as you know, she is a lively narwhal while I am a human. I think she would be more fun with an equal opponent, so now I am looking for a handsome strong male narwhal to be my girl’s mate. If you are also looking for a sweet girl for your narwhal, contact me and give me the picture of your young lad. Mayarassamee is such a good and clever girl. She likes a cheerful guy, but I have to warn that she is a skillful fighter, so please prepare your boy’s tooth and come to challenge her. The one who can win my girl will be her husband. I hope I will have a chance to bring up a baby narwhal in the future.
