The five scariest TV Halloween episodes

    ( 5 ๹อนที่น่า๥ลัวที่สุ๸๬า๥๯ีรีย์ทา๫ทีวี๯ึ่๫๭ายในวันฮัลโลวีน)

    5. 'The X-Files' ๹อน Home

The ominous banjo plucks from “Deliverance” aren’t the only bits of pop culture that keep millions weary of backwoods America. “The X-Files” tried its hand at the villainous side effects of inbreeding for the 1996 episode “Home” in which Mulder and Scully stumble onto the deformed Peacock family. Murder, amputations and some serious Oedipal issues ensue. “Home” ended up being so disturbing, Fox vowed to never air it again, until they broke their word for a 1999 Halloween special.

    4. 'Buffy the Vampire Slayer' ๹อน Hush

Living in a college dorm, your greatest fear should be an unhygienic or hypersexual roommate, but for the cast of “Buffy the Vampire Slayer,” freshman year brought the threat of floating zombies roaming the halls and cutting students' hearts out. Famously showcasing a solid 28 minutes without dialogue, “Hush” gave chills on just an eerie score, a few Hitchcockian caliber shockers and a dash of sinister Victorian-era manners. Spooky storytelling at its finest.

    3. 'Doctor Who' ๹อน Blink

Once or twice a season over on “Doctor Who,” whatever British thespians happen to be occupying the lead roles that year get so overworked, the show devotes an entire episode to different actors. And thank god for that. The third season’s episode “Blink” (about a bunch of soul-sucking angel statues who send whoever dares look in their Medusa-like eyes into the past) might have been the best in the series. Offering more edge-of-your-seat anxiety and residual heebie-jeebies than most Brits could stand, we hear the episode sparked a collective pants-wetting across the pond. “Oi, my knickers!”

    2. 'Are You Afraid of the Dark?' ๹อน The Tale of Laughing in the Dark

You know what's even scarier than mutant hillbillies? Canadian children's programming! Just kidding, it's totally clowns. And in one particularly cringe-tastic episode of the "kid friendly" '90s series "Are You Afraid of the Dark?," the storytelling canucks introduced their tween audience to the worst clown ever. When the rebellious, knee-socked protagonist swipes a fun house dummy's red nose, the Chucky-esque clown exacts his revenge by following the kid home, prank calling him and luring him to a carnival at night. Not. Funny

1.'The Twilight Zone' ๹อน Nightmare at 20,000 Feet

These days it's hard to imagine anything scarier with air travel than watching security toss your $40 jar of Bumble and Bumble hair masque (curse you, three ounce limit!), but in one 1961 episode of “The Twilight Zone,” a young William Shatner had to suffer through a flight as the only passenger who could see a taunting, bug-eyed gremlin frolicking on the plane's left wing. Part psychological thriller, part horror, "Nightmare at 20,000 Feet" might just be the most chilling and suspenseful short ever to grace the small screen.
