On a cold of New Year Eve

In the dark alley that poor girl lives

She is already shivering

From a cold she is suffering

Young girl tries to sell some match

But nobody gives her any cash

She walks barefoot near the river

Because she has lost her slippers

She is afraid to go home early

Because her father will be angry

The young girl then sits down

On a dark cold ground

Poor girl starts lighting matches

Until it turns in to ashes

She sees several lovely visions

Luxurious feast and New Year Celebration

Hi, little young girl

You are beautiful thing in this world

What are you doing?

Oh, I see matches you are selling

Oh, my dear you look so tired

Let’s come to my house we have food and fire

No, please don’t run away from me

Go with me and you will see

You make me angry right now

I have no choice but to take you down

Stop running and lay on the ground

There is nobody can help you around

Now remove all your cloth

Don’t shy because there is only you and me in this road
