CHAPTER TWO
“I love you” The boys exclaimed as they both sluggishly disappeared.
“I want to be with you forever.” Fluke’s last wish.
“I hope we can still live.” Ohm demands.
They are nowhere to be found.
As the tingling sound of the machine lingered in the ears of the doctors and nurses, they couldn't help but wail.
“Where is my son?” Two old ladies arrived outside of the emergency room and looked for their sons.
“It’s because of your son!” The old lady said.
“Why does my son have to be the reason huh?” Another lady exclaimed.
The murmurs of the two old ladies echoed at the hallway of the hospital. Their voices were filled with angst and agony. When the doctors heard the mothers’ wailing, they took a deep sigh and both went outside to bring the news.
“How’s my son?” The mothers both asked. The doctors looked at each other for a second.
“What? What happened to our sons? Answer!” Fluke’s mom exclaimed.
“Please be calm, ma’am” One of the doctors stated.
“How are we going to stay calm? Our sons’ lives are in danger!” Ohm’s mother exclaimed as she almost fainted.
The doctors already experienced this kind of pressure but why does hit differently today?
“The thing is, your sons are…” The doctor didn’t finish talking when one of the nurses went outside.
“Doc! They’re still alive!” Both doctors turned around and looked at the nurse and quickly went back inside. They both checked their patients. The two boys both have the same number of beats in the machine. The doctors looked at each other and smiled. They feel at ease for a little after checking the machine.
“What did the nurse mean a while ago?” Fluke mom asked Ohm’s mom.
“The nurse said that they’re still alive.” Ohm’s mom subconsciously said to Ohm’s mother.
“Ah okay” Fluke’s mother stated then they both paused for a while.
“WHAT?” Both mothers exclaimed. Sudden realizations hit them as they digested what the nurse said. Tears started to fall down on their faces. They cannot stand seeing their sons in coffins lying with no breath. They were not prepared and ready. They didn’t think that their sons would go to an accident. The mothers couldn’t think of anything.
‘Where am I? Am I back?’ Fluke thought as he saw the white scenery.
‘Was I resuscitated?’ Ohm thought to his mind.
‘Ohm’ ‘Fluke’ They both thought.
“Fluke, are you there?” Ohm shouted as he wandered the white place.
‘That’s Ohm’s voice!’ Fluke thought.
“Ohm? Ohm? I’m here! Where are you?” Fluke shouted as his tears continuously fell on his cheeks hoping to find Ohm.
Fluke kneeled for a second and cannot help but to wail. Ohm heard it.
“Fluke! Where are you? I’m coming for you!” Ohm shouted as he continuously walked without knowing what is the definite direction. All he knows that he needs to find Fluke, the love of his life and the apple of his eyes.
“Fluke! Don’t give up! I will be there!” Ohm said as he continued to find Fluke’s wailed. He followed the echo but it was a bit elusive to find knowing that it has a lot of directions and the place is unknown.
Ohm kept on searching Fluke’s wail. Moments passed by when they saw each other. They both ran as fast as they could but something bumped between them.
“What’s happening?” Fluke asked as he kept on crying.
Ohm tries to break the glass wall that’s dividing them together. He punched. He kicked. He doesn’t want to give up.
“You both want to live, right?” The two looked around to see who’s talking. It is a silhouette of an unknown person.
“Who are you?” Fluke asked as he wept his tears.
“What do you want from us?” Ohm asked as he remained in his posture.
“I said, do you both want to live?” The silhouette said and the two both nodded quickly.
“Okay, I will let you both live.” The stranger said. Ohm and Fluke looked at each other and smiled.
“But…” The stranger added.
“But what?” Ohm asked. The silhouette chuckled. And rubs it’s forehead.
“You’ll know it when you wake up. But remember, not all wishes can be granted fully.” The silhouette implied and was already nowhere to be seen.
“I love you, Fluke!” Ohm said sincerely.
‘I love you too, Ohm.’ Fluke said.
‘It’s time to wake up’ Fluke added and Ohm smiled.
After the doctors checked the boys. They both smiled and quickly went out to announce the good news.
"Your sons are alive. They survived!" one doctor said.
“It’s a miracle!” The other doctor added.
Both mothers sighed deeply as they could and felt a bit of ease after hearing the news. They cried because of joy. They both hugged each other without a hint of anger. They felt sincere at the moment.
“We will put them in another room,” the doctor added.
“Would you like them together in the same room?” the other doctor asked.
After hearing the doctors. The mothers wept their tears and both said,
“No!” They emphasized.
The doctor looked at each other and sighed.
“We understand.” The doctor said with a hint of disappointment.
“We need to go.” The other doctor said.
“Thank you! Thank you!” The mothers both said and just stared at the doctors while their shadows faded.
The mothers saw their sons being brought to their respective rooms.
“Let’s wake up” Ohm and Fluke said to each other.
“You’re awake!” Fluke’s mom said as she saw his son gently open his eyes as his head aches.
Fluke stared at the ceiling for a minute with no thoughts attached. He can feel that his head stings. He cannot move completely. He scans the room and sees his mom teary-eyed hugging him. Fluke didn’t hug him back and his mom noticed it.
“Are you still mad at me?” Fluke’s mom asked.
Fluke just stared at him for a moment. Memorizing the face of a woman.
“I’m so sorry if we put you in this position. If we just allowed both of you, this wouldn’t happen.” She added and again, Fluke didn’t respond.
Fluke’s mind is blank as of the moment. He cannot understand what his mother’s saying.
“Are you still mad at us?” Fluke’s mom repeated.
Fluke tried his best to move his jaw without hurting his head.
“Wh...who a...are y...you?” Fluke stuttered but his mom couldn’t understand it. Fluke tried again.
“Who are you?” Fluke calmly stated. Fluke’s mom cried as she laughed.
“This is not the time to throw jokes on me.” Fluke’s mother said as she cried while laughing.
“Who are you?” Fluke exclaimed while her mother stopped from laughing. Her mother wept her tears and leaned closer to her son.
“Who are you?” Fluke asked one more time and her mother went dumbfounded.
