Pakistan

-          Pakistan is part of South Asia

·         The capital is Islamabad

·         Language is Urdu

·         Religion is Islam

·         They gain independent in 1947 [[they’re partition from India]]

·         It has second largest Muslim population

·         6^th largest population

·         It’s an agricultural nation

ð They grow rice, cotton, and wheat

·         When it’s time for drought, they would solve a problem by irrigation

·         Largest city in Pakistan is Karachi ชื่อน่ารักอ่า คาราชิๆๆ >_<

·         Mohammad Ali Jinnah is the founder of Pakistan

ð He formed Pakistan for Muslim in August 1947 [[but he died on 1948]]

·         Then, Pakistan broke out into West and East Pakistan because…

1.      They were separated from India

2.      They spoke different languages

·         Liaquat Ali Khan rules Pakistan after Mohammad

·         In 1658, the Military ruled Pakistan [[the Military ruler is Ayub Khan]]

·         Pakistan broke out some part and became Bangladesh

 

Bangladesh

·         Most of the Indians are Hindu and when British gave them freedom, the Muslim in India formed new country called Pakistan. Then, Pakistan broke out into West and East. But there’re a lot of problems so East Pakistan broke into Bangladesh.

·         Bangladesh gain independent from Pakistan in March 26, 1971

·         The founder of Bangladesh is Sheik Mujibar Rahman

·         Bengal [[Bangladesh]] was conquered by the Mughals in 1199

ð Mughal is a large Muslim empire

·         Mughals made Bengal as their important post and rich

·         Portuguese arrived in the 15^th century

ð They came to find spices and trade [[they wanted spices because it can use to preserve food and it’s really expansive]]

·         Portuguese took over Bengal and kicked out Mughals

ð In 1633, Bengal rebelled and kicked Portuguese out =__=^^^

·          East India Company took over Bengal in 1690 [[Most workers in this company is British]]

ð The company was controlled by Robert Clive.

·         British government replaced East India Company and took over in 1857 [[So East India Company can’t rule anyone]]

 

Ps. The founder of India when got independent was Mohandas Gandhi

Southwest & Central Asia

-          Most important resource is WATER.

-          Rub al-Khali, the largest all-sand desert in the world, is located in Southwest & Central Asia.

-          Important things in this region are

1.      Desert = It contains Earth’s largest desert

2.      Landforms = cover with sand, pebbles, boulders and gravel

3.      Oasis = place where water is available from underground spring or well

4.      Most fertile land = Tigris and Eupharares River [[silt]] are rich in minerals

5.      Mountains are border = they separate Hindu Kush and Tajikistan

        = they also separate Pamirs from Tajikistan and China

6.      Rivers are also border = Red Sea  separates Asia and Africa

 = Mediterranean Sea separates Asia from Southern Europe

 = Black Sea and Caspian Sea separates Asia from Eastern Europe

7.      Southwest and Central Asia is called MIDDLE EAST because these regions are at the crossroads where North Africa, Asia, and Europe meet

9.      Silk Road is a trading road – from Asia to Middle East to Europe

-          Southwest and Central Asia climate is extremes.

·         Scorching summer

·         Very veryyy cold winter >__<

-          They have the largest dry region, so drought is common.

[[Drought is a long period without rain]]

-          Plants in these regions grow quickly or have oily skin to protect themselves from heat.

-          People grow crops by using irrigation.

·         Wadis[[waterways that fill up in the rainy season but are dry the rest of the year]] is one kind of irrigation, because there’s no water so people need to dig an underground well [[to the water table and saturated zone ^O^!!]]. They must dig at least 600 feet to find water O___o

-          Most people settle near the water.

·         Near the Mediterranean Coast and the river valleys of the Tigris and Eupharates are heavily populated.

-          Also, most people work on farming.

-          Most countries here are agricultural countries.

·         But the amount of arable land, or land that can produce crops in, is limited. So people are using technology to solve the problems TT^TT
