I seriously considered if this lot was appropriate according the style guidelines in this forum, because I don't think a school is what anyone would call "alternative". Nonetheless, I know that many GOS members take pictures and write sim stories, so I figured this could be useful to them. Otherwise, by all means feel free to delete this thread and I apologize in advance. 

I've been working on a sim story for almost two years, and the next few updates will take place mostly inside a high school at Belladonna Cove. I've downloaded many school themed community lots in the past, but few suited what I needed. While I liked the "American Highschool" by twoflower at MTS2, the fact that a large part the classrooms and the gym were in the basement was a problem when I tried to take my story pictures. So, I decided to build my own school from scratch, despite my inexperience in that matter (I'm mostly a lot download whore). 

Despite originally planned as a set for pictures, this is a functional lot. It's currently zoned as residential, because my plan is to have one sim (the principal) buy the school and set it as a home business. Then, with the help of the customer selector from MATY, I'll make sure that all the customers are teenagers. And then I'll just summon my characters as needed and mix playing with posing. I' could have made it a community lot, but most of the posing hacks and boxes only work on residential lots, so a home business was a good compromise to have both the spontaneous visits and behavior from my teen townies, and the required control for the action scenes I've planned.


Details:

Type: Residential.

Floors: Two (No basements nor foundations.)

Requires: All the SPs and EPs.

Cost: 462,000 Simoleons (As I read on twoflower's description for his/her school, education is expensive!), but I guess you could diminish the cost of the lot with MATY's magic wand, delete some of the content or just abuse the money cheats .

Lot Size: 4 x 5 (the smallest lot as possible, to avoid lag).

Custom Content: The lots comes completely furnished and decorated with mostly Maxis stuff. There's 10 Mb of build stuff, poster recolors and a few school-related buy objects. All the required CC is included on a separate folder sorted by type for those like me who are a bit anal retentive with their CC organization, and because that was the only way I could get rid of the useless recolors and hacks that just wouldn't disappear!  (Clean Installer is a headache for me!). -Partial List below-

To the right from that hallway, you reach what I've dubbed as the "Kid zone" of this lot. Although I'm only going to play with teens right now, I'm aiming to use this school to also take pictures of elementary and pre-school classes in the future. This is the hallway that leads to these rooms, and the door on the back leads to the playground.

Cafeteria. If you download Simlogical's cafeteria patch (to enable the Uni stove's functions on residential lots), an Uni cafeteria cook will spawn as soon as you load this lot. 


On the back, you can see two empty OFB fridges and a register machine. This school also offers cooking classes, so you can sell the food made on that class in the cafeteria. Or you can fill the fridge with fake food and clutter.

Dressing room and showers. This is the ladies' rooms, but there's an identical one for the guys across the hall. These are the only restrooms in the school, but they are functional and large enough for all your students.

On the back you can see a door that leads to a "cold room" with fridges in which the students can store their culinary creations. There's a reason story-wise why I built that tiny room, but you could use it just as a regular storage room.

There's also a hidden room for your supernatural students. But you'll have to find it on your own .

(That file marked on "red" is the only hack included. I'm not even sure if it's really a hack because CI tends to mark very random things as such, but it is related to a secret door inside the school, so I left it just in case. )
